Ranking system explained
Each contributor now as rank assigned 1 through 5. You can see your current rank if you click your user name. Rank 1 is the highest rank possible. Rank 5 is the lowest. All new contributors start at 5. The rank is a measure of how good you’ve PROVEN to be. Rank calculation is fully automated and all ranks are recalculated daily, and here is what you need to know about our ranking algorithm without getting into too much details.
If your suggestion is picked, you get a major boost. If client bans you, you get negative points. The system will also track now many suggestions you’ve submitted and know many of those are marked as liked or disliked. This is important. You’ll get BETTER ranking if you submit FEWER suggestions but of HIGHER quality.
Ranking system is discriminatory in a good way. The system now automatically detects how good you are at suggesting names, domains and slogans. If clients grade your work high – you are good. If your suggestions are disliked – you are not. If you submit too many suggestions without regard to their quality – you get punished. We want good copywriters to stay so we’ve set up progressive payscale – the better your rank, the more you get.
Rank 1 contrib gets 60% of the order ($30 for typical domain name order). Rank 2 gets 55% ($27.5). Rank 3 gets 50% ($25). Rank 4 gets 45% ($22.5). Rank 5 gets 40% ($20). Though this is not implemented yet, there will be a daily limit of how many suggestions each contributor can submit per order in a single day. The lower your rank, the lower your limit will be.
This way the system flushes out people who don’t have naming skills and rewards those who do to stay. Clients are happier, because they get high quality suggestions, contributors are happy, because best ones are paid higher, and we are happy, because our refund rate has already dropped in half, since we’ve implemented the changes.
Now, if you just started and your rank is 5, don’t despair. Our ranking system is dynamic and it’s recalculated once every 24 hours. As you make more and more great suggestions, you move up. Those who don’t, drop lower. So if somebody got 2 or 3 suggestions picked 6 months ago, but hasn’t been able provide anything worthwhile since, he or she will be replaced with someone who got 1 or 2 suggestions picked last month. You’ve got to stay on top of your game to remain a top rated contributor.
